Design and construction

It comes in all-plastic made material which looks like a two-piece device but you can’t open it.

Taking it out of the box reveals the male USB plug.

It is very small at only 2.2-inches wide and 1-inch in thickness. The USB plug is not retractable, so your next move is to look for an adapter that will connect to your wall outlet.

Configuring the DMG-112A Wireless N300 USB Range Extender

It could be a little tricky but if you follow the instructions properly, it would be just easy and will take you less than five minutes to configure the N300 Range Extender.

The diagram above will be the general guide in how you will configure the range extender.

I took the easier step or should I say the familiar procedure which is using the Android App called D-Link OneTouch.

Get a USB adapter and connect the D-Link N300 Range Extender and plug it into your wall outlet.

Once you plug your range extender to your wall outlet, it will turn on automatically and it is now time for you to launch the OneTouch app for the configuration to start.

The D-Link OneTouch app will locate your D-Link N300 USB range extender.

The next steps would require you to connect your range extender to your home router.

The procedure is done one time only. This is what I call an install and forget procedure.

You can now connect your device to the D-Link N300 range extender and enjoy a strong Wi-Fi connection in the part of your home with signal was weak before.

D-Link N300 USB Range Extender: Bring it anywhere

Because of the compact design of the D-Link N300 Range Extender, you can bring it to your kitchen, to your loft or to any area of your house where WiFi signal is weak.

Alternatively, you can also attach the device to your laptop’s USB port. However, I don’t recommend it because it kind of occupies large space specially on Macbook Pro. You may try using USB extension in that case but I have not tested it, though.

Conclusion

You don’t need bulky WiFi signal extender. All you need is a D-Link N300 Range Extender. With a little effort in configuring the device, areas in your home with the weak signal will become better.

It is currently available in all D-Link authorized resellers for only P1,400.
